Carl Hansen & son
Carl Hansen & Søn was established in 1908 by cabinetmaker Carl Hansen. Carl Hansen & Søn’s passion for producing high-end designer furniture is rooted in more than a century of craftsmanship traditions. To this day the company remains faithful to their design philosophy, producing high-quality furniture of enduring beauty and sustainability.
In 1934 Carl Hansen, handed over the reins of Carl Hansen & Søn, to his son Holger Hansen. This also announced a new era for the company, where focus shifted towards cooperation with some of the most talented designers in Denmark. In 1949 the company entered into a partnership with Hans J. Wegner, who in his first year designed four chairs among which, one of them was the world famous Wishbone Chair.
Carl Hansen & Søn has managed to continually develop the company profile, by gathering famous Danish furniture classics, such as, The Wing Chair by Hans J. Wegner, The Safari Chair by Kaare Klint and The Folding Chair by Mogens Koch as well as The Colonial Chair by Ole Wanscher, under one roof. Carl Hansen & Søn aims to assemble the best and most iconic design classics in their portfolio. Classics, that are all characterized by high-quality and sustainable craftsmanship.
